I have heard that mail marked as religious material is less likely to be tampered with during transit. It is suggested that you draw crosses on the boxes, write Bible verses, or say things like “contains religious material” or “God is watching you.” You can even go so far as to pretend you are mailing the package to a nun and address it to “Sister Salley”, but only if you really want to make me laugh upon picking up the package! I am sure that any other religious embellishments would work just fine too.
Keep in mind, mail takes a minimum of 4 weeks to arrive in Zambia, and I might not be able to pick it up right away. It is also emphasized that you write “Air Mail” and “Par Avion” on anything you send, and number each letter and package so that I know if anything has been lost.
Hope to hear from you soon!
